Hosted by CNIS, the summing-up meeting on water efficiency label work in 2022 was held in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on April 25, 2023, welcoming nearly 200 representatives from colleges and universities, research institutes, industry associations and relevant enterprises.

Wen Hua, Deputy Director-General of the Environment and Resource Department of NDRC, and Ren Yanyong, Deputy Director of the National Office of Water Conservation under MWR, made keynote speeches on the standards system of water conservation, arrangement and effect of the construction of water efficiency label management system, and the future work priorities of water efficiency label. Qiu Liping from Zhejiang Administration for Market Regulation introduced the work on water efficiency label and water efficiency forerunners in Zhejiang province.

Bai Xue, Director of Water Efficiency Label Management Center, CNIS, elaborated on the status quo of water efficiency label work in 2022 and the future work plan. Lin Ling, Head of the Branch of Resource and Environment, CNIS, expounded the standardization system on green manufacturing and its organizational structure, and introduced the water-using product green evaluation and "forerunner" cases with practical guidance.

The experts from SAMR Key Laboratory on Energy and Water Efficiency and Greenness and relevant research institutes, enterprises and third-party testing bodies interpreted the standards on energy and water efficiency of related products and the rules for implementing the water efficiency label.

As the supporting body for establishing the water efficiency label system commissioned by NDRC, MWR and SAMR, CNIS has supported the water efficiency management of five kinds of water-using products such as toilet and dish-washing machine. In 2023, with the leadership of relevant ministries and commissions, CNIS will continuously promote the work on water efficiency label and "forerunner" cases, drive manufacturers to develop and produce excellent water-saving products, and help create a good environment of water conservation in the whole society.
