Agriculture has always been a vital concern of the Chinese government. And there is no exception in the Xiong'an New Area, a demonstration zone of innovation-driven development and smart city construction.

Its standardization technical committee on agriculture and rural area (XA/TC 01) was officially  set up on February 7 by the Administrative Committee of Xiong'an New Area. The secretariat is co-held by CNIS and the SDIC-CSSTGC Institute of Quality Infrastructure Co., Ltd. Consisting of 26 members, Zhao Chunjiang, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and an expert of agriculture, serves as Chair and Li Zhiping, Vice-President of CNIS, is Vice Chair.

President Xi has put forward four demands for the construction of Xiong'an, "global vision, international standards, distinctive Chinese features, and future-oriented goals". XA/TC 01 is the first standardization technical committee authorized in the Xiong'an New Area, which is a significant step to boost the high-quality development of agriculture and rural area in the demonstration zone.

Cooperating with local government, CNIS will develop tailored standards and standards systems for Xiong'an in the field of the whole agricultural industrial chains, green agriculture, governance of rural areas and public services of rural areas. Also, an agricultural brand "Xiong'an's safe choice" will be built for modernized agriculture.

Great improvement is expected to be made in the standardization work of agriculture and rural areas in Xiong'an New Area.
