The annual meeting of National Public Safety Basis Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 351) was held on April 28, reporting the work progress in 2020 and discussing the work plan for the new year. The committee composed of one subcommittee and ten working groups is responsible for developing and revising the basic, general and comprehensive standards in the area of public safety.
Chen Shaoyun, a senior official from the Policies, Laws and Regulations Department of the Ministry of Emergency Management, expressed gratitude for CNIS's support for the emergency management standardization and recognized the cooperation results of the two sides at the event. He also expressed the hope to establish the national emergency management standards system.
CNIS, undertaking the secretariat of the committee, is willing to work with all relevant parties to promote the public safety standardization, stated Tang Wanjin, Vice-President of CNIS.
Academician Fan Weicheng, Chair of SAC/TC 351, hoped the committee could help ensure the safety in social development, and reap more results in serving regional and urban social governance at the grassroots level and contributing to international standardization work.
Xu Changxing, Deputy Director-General of the Standards Technical Management Department of SAMR, recognized the committee's contribution to the public safety standards system and the urgently needed standards that have been developed and revised to help curb the spread of coronavirus. Standardization work in the area shall comply with the overall national security ideas during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, he added.
In addition, the meeting approved the establishment of two new working groups, respectively on the authenticity, completeness and reliability of products and documentations and on the supply chain safety management system.
