Zhang Mao, Administrator of the State Administration for Market Regulation, visited the CNIS on the spot on October 23, he inspected the National Library of Standards, the Resources and Environment Branch, the Service Standardization Department and the Foundation Standardization Department successively, listened to the work of the CNIS in the fields of basic standardization, management and services standardization, resources and environment standardization, and inquired in detail about the talent echelon construction, investment in scientific research facilities, research and innovation, etc. He highly affirmed the achievements made by the scientific research personnel of CNIS in recent years and congratulated the scientific research personnel who won various international and domestic awards.

Zhang Mao stressed that standardization is the commanding height and plays a fundamental and leading role. The standardardization level of a country reflects the level of economic and social development. He encouraged the research workers of the CNIS to play an important role in standardization and serve the overall development of the country. The CNIS is the national team of standardization research and should play an important role in the standardization work in the country's development, keep up with the international advanced standards, and constantly promote the progress of standardization work in China. The standardization work in the field of energy conservation and emission reduction is very important. He hopes that the CNIS will have a high standards and a sense of responsibility and strive for a greater voice in international organizations. 

Zhang Mao put forward four requirements for standardization work. First, we should recognize the gap in the coverage of standardization work in China, speed up the formulation of new formats and new service standards, and lead the development of the industry. The second is to continuously improve the quality of standards. The standardization work should carry forward the spirit of craftsman, cultivate meticulously and encourage enterprises to set higher standards. The third is to strengthen the implementation of standards. The vitality of the standards lies in its implementation, and the market supervision department should strengthen its supervision over the implementation of the standards. The fourth is to strengthen the popular science propaganda of standards. We should vigorously promote standardization, let the society pay attention to standardization, and guide and encourage everyone to implement standards.
