Experts in the field of graphical symbols from the Sub-institute of Fundamental Standardization, CNIS, attended the 38th international meeting of ISO/TC 145/SC 1, Public information symbols, signs and guidance system, on October 30-31 in Stockholm, Sweden.
At the meeting, CNIS experts reported the work of ISO/TC 145/SC 1/WG 5, Public information guidance systems, and put further standardization work on the table.
Based on series standard ISO 28564, Public information guidance systems, efforts will be put into standardization research on the setting of public information in typical urban public places, such as civil airports, transportation hubs, tourist attractions, general hospitals, etc. As international airport terminals play an important role in international travel and share similar services and procedures across the globe, the passenger guidance system in international airport terminals can be the focus of developing international standards, which catalyzes the research on public guidance system for travelers at international airport terminals.
By attending the meeting, CNIS experts have fully exchanged with overseas experts, deepened mutual understanding, and broadened international horizons. CNIS also successfully completed the tasks of ISO/TC 145/SC 1/WG 5 undertaken by China, setting a clear direction for future international standardization work.
