The 3rd inaugural meeting and 1st plenary meeting of SAC/TC 313, Food safety management, was held in hybrid forms on November 18 in Beijing. Directed by Food Production Safety Supervision and Administration Department, State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), SAC/TC 313 takes charge of the basic, comprehensive and universal standardization work in the field of food quality control and management, whose secretariat is held by CNIS.

The meeting was attended by 64 committee members, as well as officers from SAMR, National Health Commission of China, China Agricultural University, China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, and CNIS.

Standardization is an important pillar that supports the high-quality development of China's food industry, where SAC/TC 313 shines. Requirements on future work are proposed, according to Guo Huanxin, First-class Inspector of Standards Technical Management Department, SAMR.

Also, standards on food quality control and management is a vital part of food quality standards system, which was emphasized by Ma Chunliang, Chair of the committee and Director-General of Food Production Safety Supervision and Administration Department, SAMR. Ma expected that more high-quality standards will be developed and implemented to facilitate the development of food industry.

Li Zhiping, Vice-President of CNIS, stressed that CNIS has attached great importance to the work of SAC/TC 313, and will do its best to support the work of the secretariat financially and institutionally.
