On February 14, 2019, Dr. Scott Steedman, Director of Standards, The British Standards Institution (BSI), led his delegation visited CNIS. CNIS President Liu Hongsheng received the BSI delegation, and held a meeting to discuss and exchange some relevant cooperation issues for both sides. CNIS Vice-President Bai Dianyi and some experts from the related departments such as the Research & International, the Resources & Environment, the Quality Management and the Standards Information Research attended the meeting.
The both sides respectively introduced the latest work progress, reviewed the cooperation projects between the both sides and held in-depth discussions on renewing the cooperation agreement. The both sides also exchanged views on international standardization issues such as climate change adaptation, sustainable finance, consumer product safety, recycling of resources and promotion of international standards projects. They also discussed mutual recognition of nuclear power material standards and reached a lot of consensus on further cooperation in a wider range of fields. The two sides also added contacts to keep in touch on specific cooperation matters.
