Entrusted by the Environmental Resources Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, the CNIS organized an on-site review meeting of outstanding energy management cases on January 21, 2019. The review experts group listened to the on-site statements of 23 shortlisted units such as Henan Xinlianxin Chemical Fertilizer Co., ltd. and questioned the relevant practices and effects of energy conservation management. In the next step, a list of outstanding energy management cases of the year will be formed based on the expert review results, and China's outstanding energy management cases participating in the Global Energy Management Leadership Award will be recommended to the Energy Management Working Group ( EMWG ) of the Clean Energy Ministerial Cooperation Mechanism ( CEM ).

The Clean Energy Ministerial Cooperation Mechanism ( CEM ) is an international initiative launched by the U.S. Department of Energy in 2009. It aims to promote international cooperation in the clean energy field and includes initiatives such as the Energy Management Working Group ( EMWG ).The solicitation of outstanding energy cases was launched in October 2018 and 40 cases recommended by 14 units were received. As the leader of EMWG's domestic working group, CNIS convened experts from member units, relevant research institutions, industry associations and certification institutions to review the submitted cases according to CEM Global Energy Management Leadership Award selection criteria and procedures.The selection of excellent energy management cases will help to further improve the energy management level of key energy-using organizations in China and publicize and promote China's advanced experience in energy management.
