Chinese-English Bilingual Corpus Construction in Standardization & Ontology Knowledge System Research is Underway

On March 2nd, 2017, the working meeting of Chinese-English Bilingual Corpus Construction in Standardization & Ontology Knowledge System Research was held in Beijing, which is part of the National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) Special Project of National Key Research Plan during the 13th Five-Year Plan. Some 20 persons including the project manager, core researchers, the research assistant and experts from China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS), University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) and SAC Information Center (SAC-info) attended the meeting, which was chaired by the project manager Liu Zhiyang.

The meeting summarized the work in the last months, set the priorities of the project and assigned tasks in 2017, and put forward four requirements on the research works. Principals of tasks dwelled on their work plans and the budget arrangements for the tasks in 2017 respectively.

The research assistant Gao Yan introduced and interpreted related policies and financial regulations of national research projects released by Central Government, distributing a set of documents of those policies and regulations to the participants.

In order to ensure the project implemented successfully, the management group of the project was set up, the project management measures was laid out and management manuals was compiled. The personnel division in this project was made clear according to the research content, with position and responsibility specified on individuals. The meeting aimed to urge research members to work according to the plans set at the beginning of this year, to promote research works on schedule and to distribute and use the budget rationally so that the project tasks could be completed perfectly.
