| CNIS Receives 2016 World Green Design Contribution Award |

 The "ergonomic design for office desks and chairs" developed by Fundamental Standardization Department of CNIS received the "2016 World Green Design Contribution Award" of World Green Design Organization (WGDO) at the World Green Design Forum---Green Development Summit of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Area held in Tianjin from March 29 to March 30, 2016. Based on human physiological characteristics and working habits, the technology of "ergonomic design for office desks and chairs", developed through the data analysis of Chinese body measurements, has been applied successfully in the design and testing processes of office desks and chairs, which is also the first Chinese testing project on ergonomic opened to the public. Since 2011, CNIS has helped over 50 enterprises to conduct the ergonomic testing for office desks and chairs by taking use of the technology. Also, the certification to ergonomic testing has been adopted as an important evaluation indicator when procurement centers of government buy office desks and chairs. Appealed and promoted by all parties, World Green Design Organization (WGDO) is a non-profit international organization founded and registered at Belgium in September, 2013. World Green Design Forum was advocated by Mr. Lu Yongxiang, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress of China and the Former President of Chinese Academy of Science in 2011. The forum is committed to providing a platform for international communication on the development of global ecological environmental protection and green industry and promoting China-EU exchange and cooperation in the fields of technology, culture and design, etc. |
