ISO/TC 309/SC 1 convenes its first plenary meeting

The first plenary meeting of the ISO/TC 309/SC 1, Compliance management for organizations, was held online on October 20. The meeting was hosted by CNIS, which holds its secretariat. Nearly 30 representatives attended the meeting, who were from 13 countries including China, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Austria, Finland, Argentina, India, Egypt, Nigeria, and Cyprus.
ISO/TC 309/SC 1 was established in December 2025 with the approval of the ISO Technical Management Board (TMB). Its working scope covers compliance management systems and related guidelines, practices, and processes. It currently has two working groups, WG 1 on compliance management systems and WG 2 on internal investigations.
At the meeting, the secretariat and the working groups reported on recent progress. The attendees further discussed topics such as the strategic direction of ISO/TC 309/SC 1, its internal coordination, and liaison and cooperation.
CNIS will serve ISO/TC 309/SC 1 well as its secretariat, strengthen communication and collaboration with member bodies and relevant organizations, and promote the development of international standards and cooperation in the field of compliance management.
