CNIS held a work meeting to summarize the achievements made in 2022 on January 17 in Beijing. Following the guidance and deployments of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Central Economic Work Conference and the National Market Regulation Work Conference, CNIS summarized the work of 2022, laid out key tasks in 2023, and gave awards to outstanding personnel. Su Zhongmin, President of CNIS, made a work report at the meeting.

The year 2022 is vital. The 20th CPC National Congress held then has depicted the blueprint to build a modern country in all respects. With the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its guide to action, CNIS has enhanced the integrative development of standardization and quality, as well as made the overall planning of COVID-19 prevention & control and scientific research. Though facing uncertainties, CNIS has stuck to key tasks and annual goals, and kept opening new horizons for the development of standardization research, which technically supports China's high-quality development.

It was emphasized at the meeting that 2023 is the first year to fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, which is also crucial for continuing to implement the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).

Therefore, it is of great significance to promote standardization research. As this year is the 60th anniversary of CNIS, it sets sail for a new journey to realize more effective scientific research achievements. CNIS will focus on the new development pattern of standardization services, promote the high-quality development, accelerate the integrated development of standardization and quality, and strive to become an internationally well-known and first-class comprehensive standardization think tank in China.

Hosted by Tang Wanjin, Vice President of CNIS, the meeting was held in hybrid forms, and attended by CNIS leaders including Li Aixian, Wu Xiaobo, Jiang Jiadong and Li Zhiping, middle-level cadres, chief experts, chief researchers, personnel with senior professional title, representatives from outstanding teams, as well as leaders of China Standard Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd.
