The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) General Assembly that was scheduled for 23-24 September 2020 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has been cancelled.

All required statutory items for decision in 2020 will be addressed by correspondence and a virtual session for ISO members will be organized on 24 September 2020. Other meetings that were planned during ISO week 2020, such as the DEVCO meeting, will also be held virtually at dates and times to be coordinated with the respective chairs. Members of these groups will receive more details in the coming weeks. 

This was not an easy decision for the ISO Council to make among the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Although participants will not have the opportunity to gather physically for ISO Week 2020, Council took into consideration the best interests of the organization and, above all, the health and safety of ISO member representatives.
