Date: 2021-11-08    Source:CNIS

The 27th China Yiwu International Commodities (Standards) Fair was held in Yiwu, Southeast China’s Zhejiang province from October 21 to 25, attracting some 2,300 enterprises from 14 countries and regions including Japan, South Korea and Malaysia. At the event, the Green Carbon Front Runner Exhibition was organized for the first time by CNIS under the guidance of Standardization Administration of China.

The exhibition highlighted energy-saving standards and policies, including the energy efficiency labeling system, the water efficiency labeling system, the certification & labeling system and the enterprise standard forerunner system. With the aim to realize high-quality development, these policies are implemented to enhance the technical level of manufacturers, promote low-carbon industry and achieve the SDGs.

The energy efficiency labeling system has played an important role in advocating eco-friendly low-carbon consumption. For example, the system enables a saving of over 2.5 trillion kilowatt-hours from 2005 to 2020, which averagely surpasses the annual generating capacity of the Three Gorges Dam.

Also, the implementation of the water efficiency labeling system saves at least 6 billion cubic meters of fresh water, which may charge over 12 billion yuan ($1.87 billion).

Moreover, China promotes green production and consumption by releasing 17 national standards for green products. Thanks to the enterprise standard forerunner policy, the number of enterprise standard accessible to the public doubled by the end of 2020, compared with 2018.
