Empowering internet platform enterprises to undertake social responsibilities

The Sub-Institute of Standardization Evaluation recently held a conference in joint hands with China Federation of Internet Societies (CFIS) for the review of an association standard on the evaluation index system for the social responsibilities of internet platform enterprises.

The event was moderated by Zhang Yong, Deputy Secretary-General of CFIS and the standard was reviewed by experts from State Information Center, Development Research Center of SAMR, China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

The standard was proposed by CFIS and developed with the support of experts from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, University of International Business and Economics, and Beijing Rongzhi Corporate Social Responsibility Institute.

At the event, experts agreed that the standard can meet the current development needs of internet industry, especially taking into account many social issues about personal information protection, credit operations, data safety governance and safeguard for flexible employment. Compared with the traditional indexes for enterprise social responsibility building for public interest, the index system specified in the new standard focuses more on the conformity management and industry self-discipline.
