The Research Experimental Platform of Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience focuses on the interaction processes and principles between humans, machines, and systems. It studies the interactive relationships between machines, systems, and users, including information display, control devices, control-display compatibility, intelligent human-computer interaction, and virtual interaction. Key research areas include the design of human-computer interaction interfaces, terminology, and graphical symbols for home appliances, mobile terminals, vehicles, vehicle equipment, daily-use products, networks, software, and games.
The platform investigates the main factors influencing user experience, methods for measuring user experience, and how user experience can enhance product interaction design. It examines the elements affecting product user experience across multiple dimensions, such as products, environments, users, time, and space. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies from physiology, psychobehavioral science, and cognitive neuroscience, the platform conducts qualitative and quantitative research on user experience evaluation methods. It aims to identify simple, effective, efficient, and highly predictive evaluation methods and indicators, and establishes standardized user experience evaluation methodologies.
Additionally, the platform researches accessibility design technology for consumer products, information interfaces, and architectural transportation based on the physical characteristics of the elderly. This work aims to improve the performance of human-machine systems, enhance user experience, and promote independent innovation in industrial design.
The Research Experimental Platform of Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience consists of three research units: Human-Computer Interaction Research, User Experience Evaluation Research, and Accessibility Design Ergonomics Research. It includes six specialized laboratories: Usability Testing Laboratory, Eye-Tracking Laboratory, Neuroergonomics Laboratory, Kansei Engineering Laboratory, Home Ergonomics Laboratory, and Virtual Reality and Simulation Laboratory.
Main Research Areas
◆ Human-Computer Interaction System Research:
It focuses on ergonomic studies of human-machine interfaces, input/output devices, and the principles and methods of human-information systems, intelligent interactive systems, and virtual interactive systems. It also explores the interactive relationships between machines, systems, and users, and studies the laws governing human-computer interaction. The platform also develops standards for the design and evaluation of human-computer interactions.
◆ User Experience Evaluation Research:
Addressing the product usage characteristics and consumer psychological behaviors of the Chinese population, this research delves into factors influencing product user experience, the validity of user experience measurements, the impact of user experience on product interaction design, work efficiency, and sleep comfort. It focuses on developing user experience mechanisms, models, evaluation standards, and technical specifications to build a comprehensive user experience research system and application framework.
◆ Ergonomics Research for Accessibility Design:
Centers on collecting physical characteristic data of the elderly and researching accessibility design technologies and standards for consumer products, information interfaces, and architectural transportation. The goal is to establish a relevant standards system to enhance inclusivity and usability.
