Nathan Taylor, Technical Policy Team Leader at the Central Secretariat of ISO, visited CNIS on April 30, 2026. A meeting on technical policies on ISO standards was held, presided over by Li Zhiping, Vice President of CNIS.

Representatives from CNIS introduced its development history, as well as the progress and achievements in standardization research and international standardization activities. Nathan Taylor engaged in in-depth discussions with CNIS experts on vital ISO technical policies, including the development of ISO technical committee work programs, revisions of the ISO/IEC Directives, public consultation projects, and twinning policies. The two sides also had a lively discussion on how to better participate in ISOs international standardization activities.

Staff from relevant CNISs Sub-institute of Policy, Regulation and Planning, Sub-institute of Human Factors and Ergonomics, Sub-institute of High and New Technology Standardization, and International Cooperation Center attended the meeting.
