A delegation led by Alexey V. Ivanov, Vice President of the Russian Standardization Institute (RSI), visited the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) on January 29, 2026. CNIS President Wang Kun attended the meeting.
Both sides introduced their respective institutional profiles, national standardization systems, participation in international standardization activities, and progress in the digital transformation of standards. They also held practical discussions on international cooperation in technical fields such as artificial intelligence and large-scale event management. Following the meeting, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding, clarifying key areas and implementation pathways for future cooperation.
During the visit, the RSI delegation toured three key laboratories under the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) at CNIS, covering food sensory analysis, human factors and ergonomics, as well as energy and water efficiency and green development. Detailed exchanges were conducted on the development and implementation of standards for food sensory analysis, as well as the application of testing instruments. Technical discussions were also held on air-conditioning thermal comfort testing, healthy household product testing, and biomechanical gait stability testing. The delegation gained an in-depth understanding of Chinas energy efficiency labeling system and the testing of products such as refrigerators and air conditioners, and highly praised the scientific research capabilities of CNIS in supporting standards development. They also visited the National Standards Library.
The above-mentioned activities were also attended by relevant staff from CNIS departments covering policy and regulations, resources and environment, human factors and ergonomics, agricultural and biological standardization, artificial intelligence, services, standards library, and international cooperation center.
