07 08, 2025

WTO organized the sixth edition of Trade and Environment Week, taking place from June 30 to July 4. As a part of the WTO Trade and Environment Week, China held the dedicated session "Green Transition: China's Experiences and Suggestions" on July 1, which was attended by experts of the Branch of Resource and Environment Research, CNIS.

The session introduced China's significant practices and successful experiences in promoting green transformation from the local, national and international levels, to enhance the understanding of all parties regarding China's efforts to climate change. It aims to leverage the potential of multilateral cooperation in promoting green transition on a global scale.

CNIS experts delineated the main progress in China's construction of green and low-carbon standards system, and the vital role of standard development in enhancing product energy efficiency, promoting the low-carbon transformation of traditional industries, and leading the development of green industries. The session called for all countries to strengthen cooperation on green and low-carbon standards to further facilitate green trade.

The Trade and Environment Week is the largest annual public event of WTO. This year, WTO members including China, the EU, Australia, Brazil, and Philippines held 15 sessions on issues in the field of trade, environment and climate change.

Under the guidance of administrative departments, CNIS will vigorously carry out research on important standardization issues related to international trade and green low-carbon development, and give better play to the supporting and leading role of standards in green trade.
