The 11th plenary meeting of ISO/TC 301 on energy management and energy saving was held in Santiago, the U.S., which was attended in hybrid forms by over 50 representatives from 24 countries including China, the U.S., Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, etc. CNIS, the domestic technical counterpart, gathered Chinese experts to join the meeting.
During the meeting, the chair and secretariat of ISO/TC 301, ISO Central Secretariat, chair's advisory group and related working groups reported on the latest progresses, who later discussed the advice on pre-research of standards projects and formed the resolution. Considering the proposal of the Branch of Resource and Environment, CNIS, the expert group on integrated district energy system (IEDS) was approved to be established with its convenor undertaken by Liu Meng, a CNIS expert.
It is the first time for Chinese experts to participate in ISO's research on the development path of international standards for IEDS with leading effort. CNIS will keep pace with the progresses of international standards in ISO/TC 301, promote the integrated development of standards on energy saving and carbon reduction, and encourage more domestic experts to serve the international standardization work in this field, in order to realize the goals of carbon peak and neutrality, and contribute more Chinese wisdom in the development of cutting-edge international standards.
